There’s not sense in limiting your audience and losing out on potential sales. Supply chain issues have made it incredibly difficult for many gamers to get their hands on a PS5 or Xbox Series X. It makes sense that Activision wouldn’t abandon last-gen just yet. Charlie Intel reports that there will be a “Cross-Gen Bundle” available, which would mean Modern Warfare 2 will also be available on last-gen consoles, like the Xbox One and PS4. Additionally, pre-ordering this bundle will provide Early Access to the Open Beta, which will be first available on PS4 and PS5. Leaked details regarding the various editions of Modern Warfare 2 have seemingly given us an answer. But what about Xbox One and PS4? Will this be the year that Activision moves on from last-gen? Now to be fair, we can probably assume that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be released for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC. But that was all they announced - no reveal trailer, no platforms, no pre-order Editions, nothing.
